🐾 Questions & Answers
AAA CLASS ACT – Shades of Sapphire Ragdolls
🐾 Adoption Process & Placement
-
Our adoption process is designed to be thoughtful, transparent, and family-focused. Families begin by submitting an application so we can learn about their home, lifestyle, and expectations. Approved families are then invited to join our Family Matching List, where we begin the conversation about timing, preferences, and future litters.
-
No. While family preferences are always welcomed, kittens are placed based on personality, lifestyle compatibility, and long-term success, not speed. This approach helps ensure each kitten thrives in their forever home.
-
Yes. Preferences matter and are always considered. However, they are never guaranteed, as temperament and suitability come first.
-
Wait times vary depending on timing, preferences, and upcoming litters. We believe in open communication and will always keep approved families informed as plans develop.
🐾 Health, Wellness & Veterinary Care
-
Each kitten receives multiple veterinary wellness exams, age-appropriate vaccinations, parasite screening, microchipping, and detailed health records. Placement type determines whether kittens go home spayed/neutered or enrolled in our SpaySecure program.
-
Yes. All kittens are placed with a written health guarantee that outlines congenital and genetic coverage, along with clear expectations and support.
-
Our breeding cats undergo appropriate genetic testing to support the long-term health of our program. We are happy to discuss testing and results with approved families.
🐾 Feline Coronavirus (FCoV), FIP & Transparency
-
No cattery can responsibly guarantee that kittens will never be exposed to feline coronavirus. FCoV is extremely common in the general cat population, including in well-managed, ethical breeding programs.
-
No. Most cats exposed to feline coronavirus never become ill. FIP occurs only in rare cases when a specific mutation triggers an abnormal immune response. Exposure alone does not equal disease.
-
Because it would be misleading. Rather than making absolute promises that cannot be ethically upheld, we focus on responsible breeding practices, stress reduction, immune support, nutrition, and education — factors shown to support healthier outcomes.
-
Our kittens are raised in a calm, home-based environment with intentional socialization, predictable routines, excellent nutrition, and thoughtful transitions. We prioritize low-stress care and provide guidance to families to support continued wellness at home.
-
Like all responsible breeders, we acknowledge that illness can occur despite excellent care. What matters most is transparency, veterinary involvement, and ongoing support. We remain available to our families and address concerns responsibly.
🐾 Going Home & Transition
-
Kittens go home only when they are developmentally, emotionally, and medically ready. We never rush placement based on age alone.
-
Adjustment periods are normal. We provide transition guidance and remain available to help families support a smooth, confident adjustment.
-
Kittens go home with health records, microchip information, care guidance, and thoughtfully selected essentials to support their transition.
🐾 Visits, Pickup & Delivery
-
To protect kitten health and routines, visits are limited and scheduled selectively. Virtual updates and communication are always provided.
-
We do not ship kittens as cargo. In some cases, safe and approved delivery options may be available.
🐾 Lifestyle, Ethics & Expectations
-
Yes. For safety and wellbeing, all kittens must live strictly indoors.
-
No. Declawing is never permitted and is strictly prohibited by contract.
-
No. Our kittens are placed as cherished companions only.
🐾 Matching, Support & Lifetime Commitment
-
Families are part of the conversation and preferences matter, but final placement decisions are guided by personality, environment, and long-term success.
-
Yes. We offer lifetime support and encourage families to stay in touch throughout their kitten’s life.
-
If a family is ever unable to keep their cat, we require that we are notified immediately. Our priority is the cat’s safety, wellbeing, and appropriate placement.
While returning a cat to us may be possible in some circumstances, it is not always the safest option due to health, biosecurity, or environmental considerations. In those cases, we will work closely with the family to assist in finding an appropriate, approved home.
Cats may never be surrendered to shelters, rescues, or rehomed independently without our knowledge and involvement.
🐾 Final Reassurance
🐾 What if I still have questions?
We welcome thoughtful questions and open communication. Our goal is to ensure every family feels informed, supported, and confident before moving forward.
