Health & Veterinary Standards

Every kitten adopted from AAA CLASS ACT – Shades of Sapphire Ragdolls receives comprehensive health care and documentation, including:

  • Multiple veterinary examinations with records provided

  • Age-appropriate vaccinations

  • Littermate testing for feline leukemia (FeLV), with vaccination as appropriate.

  • Spay or neuter completed prior to going home

  • Microchip for permanent identification

  • Copy of Parents DNA records for HCM & PKD

  • Parents tested negative for FeLV/FIV

We also utilize littermate testing for parasites and viruses when appropriate, reducing stress while ensuring the health of the entire group.

Health Guarantee

Your peace of mind matters.

Every Shades of Sapphire kitten is placed with care, transparency, and long-term responsibility. Our health guarantees are designed to protect both the kitten and the family while allowing time for normal adjustment and transition.

Our health guarantee includes:

  • 7-day initial health guarantee (licensed veterinary exam required)

  • 3-year genetic health guarantee covering serious hereditary conditions, including HCM and PKD

  • FIP coverage, as outlined in our written contract

  • In the rare event of loss, a licensed veterinary necropsy is required to determine cause

All health guarantees are clearly outlined in our written contract.

This extended initial period allows kittens time to decompress, settle into their new environment, and be evaluated accurately once transition-related stress has subsided.

Go-Home Timeline

Kittens are ready to go home around 14–16 weeks of age, once they have:

  • Fully recovered from spay/neuter surgery

  • Completed all age-appropriate veterinary care

  • Reached appropriate emotional and physical maturity

This timeline prioritizes emotional stability, immune system development, and a smoother, lifelong transition into your home.

We believe waiting until kittens are truly ready leads to healthier adjustments and stronger lifelong bonds.

What Adoption Includes

AAA Class Act - Shades of Sapphire Ragdolls adoption starter kit including health records, care guide, NuVet Plus Feline supplement, toy, and comfort items

Each adoption includes:

  • Written contract and complete health documentation

  • 30 days of complimentary pet insurance

  • Starter care bag (food, comfort item, toy, and care instructions)

  • NuVet Plus Feline supplement

  • Continued breeder support — before and long after adoption

We strongly encourage maintaining pet insurance during your kitten’s first year, as their immune system and gut health continue to develop.
