Caraline: The Ragdoll Who Started It All

How one blue-eyed girl inspired an entire cattery.

Our Sweet Caraline

Every cattery has a beginning — mine began with a single, perfect Ragdoll named Caraline. Long before “AAA CLASS ACT – Shades of Sapphire Ragdolls” ever existed, she was the reason I fell in love with this breed.

With her soft, silky coat, gentle temperament, and those unforgettable sapphire eyes, Caraline showed me exactly what makes Ragdolls so special. She’s still with me today — healthy, spoiled, and deeply loved — and everything I’ve built since then honors her.

The First Spark

When Caraline came into my life, she rewrote everything I thought I knew about cats.

She was calm.
She was affectionate.
She was floppy and trusting.
She followed me everywhere.
And she connected to me in a way I had never experienced before.

I realized very quickly that:

One Ragdoll would never be enough.

Caraline made me want to learn everything I could about this breed — and she made me want to do right by it.

A Playmate for Caraline… and a Hard Lesson Learned

Wanting the best for Caraline, I purchased another kitten to be her playmate.
But instead of being joyful, the experience brought heartbreak.

The kitten became sick — severely sick — and when I reached out to the breeder for help, they refused to honor their contract.

No support.
No guidance.
No responsibility.
No compassion.

I was devastated and shocked. No family should ever go through that alone.

That experience became a turning point. In that moment, I made a promise:

If I ever became a breeder, I would be the exact opposite of what I just experienced.

I would show up.
I would answer.
I would help.
I would stand behind my kittens.
I would honor my word — every single time.

A Real Truth About Breeding: No One Has a Crystal Ball

One thing I learned, and something every family deserves to hear, is this:

No breeder on earth has a crystal ball.
Kittens are living, breathing creatures, and just like human children, things can happen that nobody can predict.

But here’s what truly matters:

A good breeder stands by you when something goes wrong.
A good breeder honors their contract.
A good breeder provides support, guidance, and honesty.
A good breeder doesn’t disappear.

We cannot promise a kitten will never face a health challenge in its lifetime — no one can.
But we can promise integrity, responsibility, and real support.

That is what separates a genuine breeder from someone who is simply “selling kittens.”
This experience is what shaped me into the breeder I am today.

From Pain to Purpose

That difficult situation didn’t push me away from Ragdolls — it fueled something deeper.

I studied pedigrees.
I learned genetics.
I researched health testing, gut health, and socialization.
I found mentors.
I worked with veterinarians.
I learned what ethical breeding really looks like.

By 2019, my cattery’s foundation was set.
By 2022, I officially became an LLC.

Everything I do comes from one simple promise:

To raise kittens with honesty, transparency, health, and heart — the way families deserve.

Caraline’s Living Legacy

Caraline is still with me today — happy, healthy, loved, and full of personality. She continues to take her role as “queen of the house” very seriously.

Her presence, her sweet nature, and her gentle spirit guide everything I do.
She is the reason I fell in love with the breed…
and the reason I am so committed to doing things the right way.

Every kitten raised in my Lucas, Ohio home carries a little piece of Caraline’s legacy:

✨ gentleness
✨ trust
✨ affection
✨ confidence
✨ that classic Ragdoll sweetness

Caraline didn’t just start my journey — she shaped it.

A Promise, Kept

In honor of Caraline — and for every family who chooses us — my mission remains the same:

To raise healthy, affectionate, well-socialized Ragdoll and Cherubim kittens with the integrity, care, and heart every kitten deserves.

Caraline started it all.
And she continues to inspire every Sapphire-eyed kitten who leaves my arms and enters a new family’s life.
